Nothing quite says “black tie” like James Bond strolling into a classy event before adjusting his bow tie and surveying the room. To capture that familiar scene of glamor and anticipation within the NEFBA Laurel Awards invitation design, we drew inspiration from the secret agent himself. The resulting invitations convey the event’s “caliber” of elegance in this clean yet captivating design.
By adding the iconic “down the barrel of a gun” whirls (seen in the film’s opening sequences since Dr. No in 1962), we’re able to use familiar imagery to communicate that level of elegance within the design. The whirls also offer an element of movement, adding depth to the black and white invitations. We even added a little martini glass—”shaken, not stirred”—to further leverage that familiarity. The font typefaces within the design draw the eyes towards pertinent pieces of information while keeping the entire design balanced as well.
We finished the NEFBA Laurel Awards invitation design off with the 007-inspired logo we created for the event. As a result, we’re able to tie together various marketing materials for the awards through a cohesive design, which encourages brand awareness.
The annual Laurel Awards event celebrates the best and brightest real estate marketing professionals in Northeast Florida. Hosted by the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA), the event honors companies and individuals in real estate sales and marketing for their accomplishments over the past year.
